Objectifs pédagogiques
At the end of the semester, the students will be able to:
- Analyse both written and oral documents dealing with current affairs
- Write summaries and memos in English
- Speak fluently in front of an audience
- Run meetings and debates
- Understand native as well as non-native speakers
- Set up presentations (speech + video support)
- Work in a team

Students will be in charge of a weekly press review, which will allow them to improve their oral skills and ability to analyse documents. Each press review will be followed by a debate. Students will also have to do presentations on specific topical issues they would like to discuss.
The course, in which articles from the written press will be studied, will mostly concentrate on the use of the Internet in order to familiarize students with various accents and the way current issues are dealt with in the multimedia.
Students will also regularly be asked to write summaries on specific topics.
The teacher will make sure they brush up their grammar when needed.
