Descriptif
This course examines the human condition through anthropological literature and social theory. Beginning with an introduction to the history and practice of anthropology, each week focuses on a different topic. The key aim of the course is to highlight the relevance of anthropology in everyday life. Some of the key topics covered in the the course are: subjectivity; ethics; power; social structure and hierarchy; bodies and more.
Objectifs pédagogiques
By the end of the semester, you will have:
- developed a broader understanding of anthropological thinking
- developed a toolkit for anthropological analysis
- a better idea of how anthropology can be applied.
