Descriptif
This course provides a basic understanding of geopolitics relating to the analysis of political processes in geographical contexts. It offers an introduction to key concepts (i.e. sovereignty, scale, agents, codes, boundaries), deals with the significant historical transformations geopolitics has undergone, and apply this knowledge to a series of case studies in military, economic, cultural, technological and societal arenas.

By the end of the semester, you will have:

- Improved your awareness of contemporary geopolitical challenges
- Reenforced your capacity to do independent research
- Enhanced your oral presentation skills
- Strengthened your capacity to write essays (grammar and style)

Programme détaillé
Type of activities
Students will work individually, in pairs, and groups of 3-4 doing research, discussing their ideas and preparing case-studies relating to presentation topics.
Assessment
- 2 written papers
- 1 presentation (individual or pair)
- Active participation in class-work
