Enseignement spécifique des masters - MEC_52182_EP : Our changing water resources : a multidisciplinary challenge

Descriptif

For each of the proposed topics a contact person has been identified. These scientists will provide the papers needed to start and understand the issues caused by global change. The contact person will also provide a seminar during the period so that all students have an overview of how the challenges of climate change are dealt with in the various disciplines.

The final lecture(s) will be dedicated to students presentations of the topic they have selected. The presentation and the report will be evaluated along the following criteria :

  • How well has the topic chosen been understood.
  • How is the water resources issue examined by the other discipline to your understanding of the physical system.
  • Are the challenges posed by climate change and evolving land use well understood ?
  • How far beyond the papers provided has the study been conducted.
  • Are the multidisciplinary implications of the topic well understood ?
  • Is the presentation clear ?

Topic already identified :

  • Monitoring water resources and the implications for its management.
  • Impact of urbanisation on our water resources.

Objectifs pédagogiques

The aim for students is to acquire a broad overview of the various consequences of climate and land use changes on our water resources. This will be achieved through the analysis of scientific papers, which will be provided, and personal research of literature on the topic.
