Anglais 1A - LEN_30109_TA : Successful oral communication

Descriptif

This course is intended for students who would like to improve their oral communication skills in English. We will practice building confidence with public speaking, work on both formal and informal registers of English, improve pronunciation, and discuss non-verbal aspects of communication such as body language and cultural differences of communication styles. Additionally, we will work on listening and comprehension skills by listening to TED talks, taking part in discussions and debates, and developing students’ professional communication skills. 

Objectifs pédagogiques

By the end of semester 1, you will have:

      • Improved your confidence when speaking in English 
      • Perfected your English pronunciation 
      • Developed general oral communication skills 
      • Understood the differences between formal and informal registers 
      • Reflected on cultural aspects of communication 
      • Learnt to listen effectively for better comprehension
      • Prepared to use English for both informal and professional contexts
